Who we are

College Path Studio is an online resource that provides college-planning guidance, tools, and courses for families. We are based in California, United States. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, contact us at daniel@collegepathstudio.com or through our contact page.

Information we collect

Information you provide to us

We collect the information you choose to give us, including when you:

  • Subscribe to our newsletter or download a resource — your name and email address.
  • Create an account, enroll in a course, or make a purchase — your name, email address, and billing details.
  • Contact us — your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
  • Complete a form on the Site — any information you enter in that form.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain technical information, including your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring website, and the dates and times of your visits. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies (see below).

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Site, our resources, and our courses;
  • Send you the newsletter, resources, and updates you request, and respond to your inquiries;
  • Process your purchases and manage your account;
  • Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve our content;
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Site and prevent fraud;
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

Cookies and analytics

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to function properly and to help us understand how it is used. We use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to collect aggregated, mostly anonymized information about Site traffic and usage. Google may set its own cookies; you can learn more at Google’s privacy pages and opt out using Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that some parts of the Site may not work correctly if you disable cookies.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Site, and only as needed for them to perform their services. These include:

  • Payment processing — Stripe, to securely process purchases. Your full payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.
  • Email and customer management — our email and CRM tools, to deliver newsletters, resources, and account communications.
  • Analytics — Google, as described above.
  • Hosting and infrastructure — our website host, which stores the Site and its data.
  • Course and membership platform — to deliver any courses or memberships you enroll in.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of College Path Studio, our users, or others.

Payments

Purchases on the Site are processed by third-party payment processors, including Stripe. When you make a purchase, you provide your payment information directly to the processor, whose use of your information is governed by its own privacy policy. We receive confirmation of your transaction and limited billing details, but we do not store your full card number.

Email and marketing communications

If you subscribe to our newsletter or download a resource, we may send you emails with related content and offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. We will still send you non-marketing messages related to your account or purchases.

Data retention

We keep your personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at daniel@collegepathstudio.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.

California residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request that we delete it, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us at daniel@collegepathstudio.com.

Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for parents and other adults planning for college, and some content is written for high-school-aged students. The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Students who use the Site should do so with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, and our service providers maintain their own security safeguards. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-party links

The Site links to other websites and services we do not control, including the federal student aid site, college websites, and our social media profiles. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

International visitors

We operate the Site from the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may be communicated through the Site or by email. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
